Skylights and rooflights in Bridgend
From flat-roof extensions to period slate roofs, we fit the right rooflight for the building in Bridgend — after a survey, with a fixed written price.
Chapels, barns and farm buildings converted across Wales often need bespoke or conservation-style glass.
We work across Mid Glamorgan, including Bridgend, and in neighbouring towns such as Porthcawl and Cowbridge. Access, parking and how the glass reaches the roof are all checked at the survey.

Planning and building rules in Wales
In Wales a rooflight on a house is usually permitted development if it stands no more than 15 cm proud of the roof, except on protected land such as conservation areas and National Parks, where permission is needed. A side-facing rooflight within 10.5 m of the boundary must be obscure-glazed, and non-opening unless the opening part is more than 1.7 m above the floor.
Approved Document L in Wales (2022 edition) sets 2.2 W/m²K for rooflights, measured horizontally, and 1.4 W/m²K or Band B for roof windows in existing homes. Wales also has its own overheating rules (Part O) for new homes, in force since November 2022.

Skylight questions: Bridgend
Do I need to be at home for the survey in Bridgend?
Yes — someone needs to let us into the room below and, where possible, show us how the roof is reached.
Is the survey in Bridgend free?
Yes for new installations. Repair visits are charged, and we tell you the price before we book.
Will I need planning permission in Bridgend?
Planning rules in Wales are tighter than in England for rooflights: Class C rights do not apply in conservation areas, National Parks or AONBs, so a rooflight there needs planning permission.
Can you work alongside my builder in Bridgend?
Yes. On new extensions we fit once the opening and upstand are ready and coordinate dates with your builder.
What guarantees do I get?
Products carry the manufacturer's own warranty, which we pass to you with the product data. Our workmanship terms are set out in the quote.
Can I cancel?
Made-to-measure products are excluded from the statutory 14-day cancellation right, but you can cancel without charge until we place the order with the manufacturer. Our terms explain the rest.
