What are loft conversion skylights?
Loft conversion skylights are roof windows placed and sized for a converted loft: enough glass to light the room, positioned for head height and views, and, where needed, sized and hung to work as an escape window.
We work with homeowners and loft builders to set out roof windows on the rafters before the room is boarded, which avoids awkward trimming later.
Most loft conversions use centre-pivot or top-hung roof windows; conservation and electric versions are also available.

Loft conversion skylights: common questions
How many roof windows does a loft room need?
Enough to give good light — a common rule of thumb is glazing equal to roughly a tenth to a fifth of the floor area, adjusted for orientation and use. We advise at survey.
Do loft roof windows need to be escape windows?
Some loft rooms need an escape window, depending on the layout and the fire strategy for the conversion. Building control confirms the requirement.
Can you work alongside my loft builder?
Yes — we set out and fit the windows to the builder's programme.
Top-hung or centre-pivot in a loft?
Top-hung gives a clearer view and often suits escape use; centre-pivot is easier to clean and suits higher positions.
Will the loft be cold near the windows?
Correctly fitted insulation collars and linings keep the window surround warm and reduce condensation.
Can I add blinds later?
Yes — most manufacturers make blinds for each window size.
