Skylights and rooflights across Nottinghamshire
We survey, supply and fit skylights and rooflights across Nottinghamshire, including Nottingham, Mansfield and Worksop.
Older terraced streets in Midlands towns often have back additions and side passages that suit a ridge rooflight or long flat rooflight.
Many Midlands semis have had a single-storey rear extension added, and a larger flat rooflight or lantern is often the change that makes it feel finished.

Planning and building rules in England
Most rooflights on English houses do not need planning permission, provided they keep within 150 mm of the roof surface and below the ridge line. Listed buildings need listed building consent, flats have no householder permitted development rights, and an Article 4 direction can remove the rights in some conservation areas.
Under Approved Document L, a rooflight added to an English home must achieve at least 2.2 W/m²K (horizontal plane), and a roof window 1.4 W/m²K or Window Energy Rating Band B. In an extension, glazing including rooflights is normally limited to 25% of the new floor area plus any windows or doors the extension covers, unless a whole-house calculation shows otherwise.

Common questions
Do you cover all of Nottinghamshire?
Yes. We survey and fit across Nottinghamshire, including Nottingham, Mansfield and Worksop. Remote and island addresses are by arrangement.
Do I need planning permission for a rooflight in Nottinghamshire?
English householder permitted development (Class C) normally covers rooflights that stand no more than 0.15 m proud of the roof plane and stay below the highest part of the roof.
Do you work on commercial buildings?
Yes — offices, schools, warehouses and retail, including smoke vents and fragile-roof replacements, with safe access planned.
Are you accredited?
We do not display trade-body logos unless a membership is held and current. Product certifications belong to the manufacturers and we provide their documents.
What guarantees do I get?
Products carry the manufacturer's own warranty, which we pass to you with the product data. Our workmanship terms are set out in the quote.
