Skylights and rooflights in Pontardawe
SkylightCompany.uk covers Pontardawe and the surrounding part of West Glamorgan, from a single roof window in a loft to a glass link or a warehouse roof.
Wales sees a lot of wind-driven rain, particularly in the west, so upstand height and flashing laps matter more than anywhere.
Pontardawe sits about 7 km from Neath and 8 km from Ystradgynlais, and we cover the whole SA8 postcode district and the roads in between.

Planning and building rules in Wales
In Wales a rooflight on a house is usually permitted development if it stands no more than 15 cm proud of the roof, except on protected land such as conservation areas and National Parks, where permission is needed. Listed buildings need listed building consent from the council, and flats have no householder permitted development rights.
In Wales the limiting values are 2.2 W/m²K for a rooflight and 1.4 W/m²K (or WER Band B) for a roof window in an existing house. Wales also has its own overheating rules (Part O) for new homes, in force since November 2022.

Skylight questions: Pontardawe
How do I book a survey in Pontardawe?
Send your postcode and, if you can, a photo of the roof and the room. We offer a survey date when we reply.
Can you work alongside my builder in Pontardawe?
Yes. On new extensions we fit once the opening and upstand are ready and coordinate dates with your builder.
Is the survey in Pontardawe free?
Yes for new installations. Repair visits are charged, and we tell you the price before we book.
Will I need planning permission in Pontardawe?
Planning rules in Wales are tighter than in England for rooflights: Class C rights do not apply in conservation areas, National Parks or AONBs, so a rooflight there needs planning permission.
Can I cancel?
Made-to-measure products are excluded from the statutory 14-day cancellation right, but you can cancel without charge until we place the order with the manufacturer. Our terms explain the rest.
What guarantees do I get?
Products carry the manufacturer's own warranty, which we pass to you with the product data. Our workmanship terms are set out in the quote.
