Rooflights for homeowners and extensions
Rear, side-return and wraparound extensions are where most rooflights go. We fit into new extensions alongside your builder, or add rooflights to an extension that turned out darker than planned.
- Fitting to your builder's programme once the upstand is ready
- Retrofit openings in finished flat roofs
- Lanterns, flat rooflights and ridge glazing compared on site
- Solar-control and opening units planned to avoid overheating

Is the survey free?
Yes, for new installations. Repair and maintenance visits are charged, and we tell you the visit price first.
Do you supply only, or fit too?
We supply and fit. We also fit rooflights you have already bought, after checking the product and the opening.
How quickly can you fit?
Manufacturers typically quote two to four weeks for standard rooflights; bespoke, structural and motorised units take longer. Your quote states the lead time.
Do I need planning permission?
Usually not for a rooflight on a house within the permitted development limits. Rules differ by nation: flats are not covered, listed buildings need listed building consent, and in Wales, Scotland and NI a rooflight in a conservation area needs permission. See our planning guide.
Plan the light before you build
Send a photo or a rough sketch of your roof and we will come back with options, a guide price and a free survey date.
