What are commercial & industrial rooflights?
Across Gwynedd, our commercial & industrial rooflights work covers rooflights for warehouses, schools, offices and retail units. Survey first, fixed price second, fitting third.
Welsh planning rules exclude rooflights from permitted development in conservation areas and National Parks, so we check the designation before quoting. Many Welsh homes have older single-storey rear extensions where a glass rooflight brightens a dark kitchen.

Planning and building rules in Wales
On commercial roofs the main questions are usually building control, fire classification of rooflight materials and safe access rather than householder permitted development. We confirm the route for your building before ordering.
For non-domestic buildings in Wales, Approved Document L sets limiting U-values for rooflights and roof ventilators; we supply the manufacturer's data for the building control submission. Fire classification of rooflight materials near boundaries is checked at specification.

How the job runs
- Tell us about the roof. Send the postcode, rough sizes and a photo or two through the form, WhatsApp or the guide-price tool.
- Free survey. For new installations a surveyor measures the opening, checks the roof build-up and talks through glass and options.
- Fixed written quote. You get the product, the work and the price in writing. Nothing is ordered or paid for until you agree.
- Fitting and handover. We fit, seal and make good, then hand over product data, warranties and any certificate paperwork.

For occupied buildings we can plan phased or out-of-hours working where access allows.
Do you supply O&M information?
Yes — product data, manufacturer warranties and maintenance notes are handed over at completion.
Can you replace old warehouse rooflight sheets?
Yes. We match the roof profile, replace discoloured or damaged sheets and plan safe access while the building stays in use.
Can you quote from drawings?
Yes, with a site survey to confirm.
Do I need to be at home for the survey in Gwynedd?
Yes — someone needs to let us into the room below and, where possible, show us how the roof is reached.
