What do commercial & industrial rooflights involve?
Our commercial & industrial rooflights service in Shropshire covers rooflights for warehouses, schools, offices and retail units. We survey every job before fixing the price.
Bungalows are common across parts of the Midlands, and sun tunnels or roof windows are a quick way to brighten internal hallways. Midlands housing is a mix of Victorian terraces, inter-war semis and newer estates, and rear kitchen extensions with flat rooflights are a common upgrade.

Planning and building rules in England
For non-domestic buildings, planning depends on the building and its location; building regulations cover thermal performance and the fire classification of rooflights near boundaries. Product data for building control is supplied with every quote.
For buildings other than dwellings, Approved Document L Volume 2 sets limiting U-values of 2.2 W/m²K for rooflights and 3.0 W/m²K for roof ventilators, including smoke vents. Fire classification of rooflight materials near boundaries is checked at specification.

How the job runs
- Tell us about the roof. Send the postcode, rough sizes and a photo or two through the form, WhatsApp or the guide-price tool.
- Free survey. For new installations a surveyor measures the opening, checks the roof build-up and talks through glass and options.
- Fixed written quote. You get the product, the work and the price in writing. Nothing is ordered or paid for until you agree.
- Fitting and handover. We fit, seal and make good, then hand over product data, warranties and any certificate paperwork.

Common questions
Do you work out of hours?
For occupied buildings we can plan phased or out-of-hours working where access allows.
Can rooflights double as smoke vents?
Some units are certified smoke ventilators. See our smoke-vent rooflights page.
Can you replace old warehouse rooflight sheets?
Yes. We match the roof profile, replace discoloured or damaged sheets and plan safe access while the building stays in use.
Do you supply O&M information?
Yes — product data, manufacturer warranties and maintenance notes are handed over at completion.
Do I need to be at home for the survey in Shropshire?
Yes — someone needs to let us into the room below and, where possible, show us how the roof is reached.
