What we fit in Brechin
We survey, supply and fit skylights and rooflights in Brechin and the DD9 district — flat rooflights, roof lanterns, roof windows, walk-on glass, sun tunnels and commercial rooflights.
Short winter days in Scotland make every square metre of overhead glass count, so rooflight sizing matters.
Jobs in Brechin are planned around access: whether the roof can be reached from the garden, whether a hoist or crane is needed, and where we can park. We check this when we measure.

Planning and building rules in Scotland
Scottish householder permitted development (Class 2B, other external alterations) can cover a rooflight that projects no more than 1 metre from the roof, but the right does not apply in conservation areas. Listed buildings need listed building consent where the work affects their character.
Scottish energy standards for glazing, including rooflights, use an area-weighted average of 1.4–1.6 W/m²K in extensions, so most modern units comply comfortably. Replacing a rooflight, frame included, does not need a building warrant, but the work must still meet the building standards.

Skylight questions: Brechin
Is the survey in Brechin free?
Yes for new installations. Repair visits are charged, and we tell you the price before we book.
Do I need to be at home for the survey in Brechin?
Yes — someone needs to let us into the room below and, where possible, show us how the roof is reached.
Do you fit skylights and rooflights in Brechin?
Yes. We survey and fit skylights and rooflights in Brechin and across Dundee and Angus. Send your postcode and we will offer a survey date when we reply.
How do I book a survey in Brechin?
Send your postcode and, if you can, a photo of the roof and the room. We offer a survey date when we reply.
Will a rooflight make my room too hot?
It can on a south-facing roof with clear glass. Solar-control glass, an opening unit and a blind keep the room comfortable.
Can I cancel?
Made-to-measure products are excluded from the statutory 14-day cancellation right, but you can cancel without charge until we place the order with the manufacturer. Our terms explain the rest.
