Bespoke & shaped rooflights in Crewe: what is involved?
We handle bespoke & shaped rooflights across Cheshire, including Crewe. In short: triangular, angled, curved and multi-pane rooflights made to measure. The survey checks structure, weathering and orientation, so the quote reflects your actual roof.
The North West gets more rain than most of England, so upstand height, membrane detailing and rain sensors on opening units are not optional extras. Think of bespoke & shaped rooflights for openings that standard sizes do not fit.
From Crewe to Winsford, Kidsgrove and Congleton, the same survey-first process applies: measure, specify, fix the price, then fit.

Planning and building rules for Crewe
In England a rooflight on a house is usually permitted development under Class C if it projects no more than 150 mm beyond the roof slope and sits no higher than the ridge. A rooflight on a side-facing slope must be obscure-glazed, and fixed shut unless the opening part is more than 1.7 m above the floor.
For English homes the energy rules ask for rooflights of 2.2 W/m²K or better and roof windows of 1.4 W/m²K (or WER Band B); most modern double glazed units meet both. The Future Homes and Buildings Standards, published in March 2026, apply from 24 March 2027 and keep the 2.2 W/m²K limit for rooflights.
Read the planning permission guide before you commit to a design.

Common questions
Will a shaped rooflight leak more?
Not if detailed properly — corners and junctions just need more care.
Do you need my architect's drawings?
They help. We still survey on site, because built openings rarely match drawings exactly.
Can I cancel a bespoke order?
Made-to-measure goods are excluded from the statutory 14-day cancellation right. As a goodwill gesture you can cancel without charge until we place the order with the manufacturer, and we tell you in writing when that happens.
Do you offer bespoke & shaped rooflights in Crewe?
Yes. We carry out bespoke & shaped rooflights in Crewe and across Cheshire. Send your postcode and we will offer a survey date when we reply.
Can you work alongside my builder in Crewe?
Yes. On new extensions we fit once the opening and upstand are ready and coordinate dates with your builder.
