Bespoke & shaped rooflights for Anstruther: the essentials
Bespoke & shaped rooflights in Anstruther means triangular, angled, curved and multi-pane rooflights made to measure. We cover the KY10 district and the rest of Fife, with a survey before any price is fixed.
Scottish weather is hard on roofs, so we specify rooflights and roof windows with exposure in mind and fit upstands with generous heights. Think of bespoke & shaped rooflights for openings that standard sizes do not fit.
Anstruther is around 50 km from Dunfermline, and we survey and fit throughout that part of Fife, including the KY10 district.
What you can choose
- Multi-pane butt-jointed runs
- Concealed or slim frames
- Corner and wrap-around glazing
- Triangular and trapezoid panes
- Sloped or monopitch rooflights
- Works with architects and builders
- Structural or framed options
Things we check at survey
- Precise survey and template may be needed
- Large panes need a lifting plan
Do you need permission in Anstruther?
Scottish householder permitted development (Class 2B, other external alterations) can cover a rooflight that projects no more than 1 metre from the roof, but the right does not apply in conservation areas. Listed buildings need listed building consent where the work affects their character.
Under the Scottish building standards, replacement rooflights should average 1.6 W/m²K or better, and no individual unit should exceed 3.3 W/m²K. Forming a new opening normally involves structural work, so check with the local authority verifier whether a building warrant is needed.
See our building regulations guide for U-values, glazing limits and self-certification.
