How we approach bespoke & shaped rooflights in Glasgow
Our bespoke & shaped rooflights service in Glasgow covers triangular, angled, curved and multi-pane rooflights made to measure. Every job starts with a survey of the opening, the roof covering and the room below, and a fixed written price.
Tenements and flats are common in Scottish towns and cities, where rooflights over stairwells and top-floor flats need the owners' and factor's agreement. In Glasgow, as anywhere, bespoke & shaped rooflights are the usual choice for angled ceilings, corners and architect-designed extensions.
Glasgow is the main town we list in Glasgow and Dunbartonshire; we also cover nearby Rutherglen and Bishopbriggs.

Consents for bespoke & shaped rooflights in Glasgow
In Scotland most rooflights on houses fall under Class 2B permitted development; in a conservation area, or on a listed building, consent is needed. Listed buildings need listed building consent where the work affects their character.
Under the Scottish building standards, replacement rooflights should average 1.6 W/m²K or better, and no individual unit should exceed 3.3 W/m²K. Forming a new opening normally involves structural work, so check with the local authority verifier whether a building warrant is needed.

Some can. Shaped glass is usually fixed, combined with a standard opening unit elsewhere.
Why does bespoke take longer?
Each unit is drawn, checked and manufactured to order.
Do you need my architect's drawings?
