Bespoke & shaped rooflights in Heywood: what is involved?
Bespoke & shaped rooflights in Heywood means triangular, angled, curved and multi-pane rooflights made to measure. We cover the OL10 district and the rest of Greater Manchester, with a survey before any price is fixed.
Converted mills and warehouses in the North West often have large rooflights or glass roofs that need specialist replacement. Bespoke & shaped rooflights suit openings that standard sizes do not fit.
From Heywood to Rochdale, Bury and Royton, the same survey-first process applies: measure, specify, fix the price, then fit.
Options we can specify in Heywood
- Corner and wrap-around glazing

Planning and building rules for Heywood
Most rooflights on English houses do not need planning permission, provided they keep within 150 mm of the roof surface and below the ridge line. Listed buildings need listed building consent, flats have no householder permitted development rights, and an Article 4 direction can remove the rights in some conservation areas.
Under Approved Document L, a rooflight added to an English home must achieve at least 2.2 W/m²K (horizontal plane), and a roof window 1.4 W/m²K or Window Energy Rating Band B. The Future Homes and Buildings Standards, published in March 2026, apply from 24 March 2027 and keep the 2.2 W/m²K limit for rooflights.
