Bespoke & shaped rooflights for Eastleigh: the essentials
Bespoke & shaped rooflights in Eastleigh means triangular, angled, curved and multi-pane rooflights made to measure. We cover the SO50 district and the rest of Hampshire, with a survey before any price is fixed.
Across the South East, single-storey kitchen extensions on 1930s semis and post-war detached houses are where most flat rooflights and lanterns go. In Eastleigh, as anywhere, bespoke & shaped rooflights are the usual choice for openings that standard sizes do not fit.
From Eastleigh to Southampton, Winchester and Totton, the same survey-first process applies: measure, specify, fix the price, then fit.

Do you need permission in Eastleigh?
English householder permitted development (Class C) normally covers rooflights that stand no more than 0.15 m proud of the roof plane and stay below the highest part of the roof. Listed buildings need listed building consent, flats have no householder permitted development rights, and an Article 4 direction can remove the rights in some conservation areas.
For English homes the energy rules ask for rooflights of 2.2 W/m²K or better and roof windows of 1.4 W/m²K (or WER Band B); most modern double glazed units meet both. Replacing a rooflight or roof window can be self-certified by an installer registered with an authorised competent person scheme; otherwise building control approval is needed.
Read the planning permission guide before you commit to a design.

Questions about bespoke & shaped rooflights in Eastleigh
Can I cancel a bespoke order?
Made-to-measure goods are excluded from the statutory 14-day cancellation right. As a goodwill gesture you can cancel without charge until we place the order with the manufacturer, and we tell you in writing when that happens.
Do you need my architect's drawings?
They help. We still survey on site, because built openings rarely match drawings exactly.
Will a shaped rooflight leak more?
Not if detailed properly — corners and junctions just need more care.
Is the survey in Eastleigh free?
Yes for new installations. Repair visits are charged, and we tell you the price before we book.
Can you work alongside my builder in Eastleigh?
Yes. On new extensions we fit once the opening and upstand are ready and coordinate dates with your builder.
