What do commercial & industrial rooflights in Leven involve?
Commercial & industrial rooflights in Leven means rooflights for warehouses, schools, offices and retail units. We cover the KY8 district and the rest of Fife, with a survey before any price is fixed.
Scottish weather is hard on roofs, so we specify rooflights and roof windows with exposure in mind and fit upstands with generous heights. In Leven, as anywhere, commercial & industrial rooflights are the usual choice for industrial roofs with tired or fragile rooflight sheets.
Leven sits about 11 km from Glenrothes and 13 km from Cupar, and we cover the whole KY8 postcode district and the roads in between.
Specification options
- Mesh or grilles under fragile areas
- Polycarbonate domes
- Continuous barrel-vault rooflights
- Smoke and natural ventilation vents
- GRP or polycarbonate in-plane rooflight sheets
- Daylight that reduces daytime lighting
- Smoke-vent options where needed
What to check first
- Non-fragility classification should be confirmed for new products
- Asbestos surveys may be needed on older roofs
Regulations for commercial & industrial rooflights in Leven
For non-domestic buildings, planning depends on the building and its location; building regulations cover thermal performance and the fire classification of rooflights near boundaries. Product data for building control is supplied with every quote.
For non-domestic buildings in Scotland, the non-domestic Technical Handbook (section 6) sets the energy standards for rooflights; we supply the manufacturer's data for the building warrant. Fragile-roof safety and access are planned before work starts.
Our planning guide covers each nation in more detail.
