What are dome rooflights?
Across Cheshire, our dome rooflights work covers polycarbonate and acrylic domes for flat roofs, new or replacement. Survey first, fixed price second, fitting third.
Rear kitchen extensions on North West semis often have small domes from decades ago that leak or have yellowed. Exposed hillside towns in the North West need flashing and seal details that cope with wind-driven rain.

Planning and building rules in England
On commercial roofs the main questions are usually building control, fire classification of rooflight materials and safe access rather than householder permitted development. We confirm the route for your building before ordering.
For buildings other than dwellings, Approved Document L Volume 2 sets limiting U-values of 2.2 W/m²K for rooflights and 3.0 W/m²K for roof ventilators, including smoke vents. Fire classification of rooflight materials near boundaries is checked at specification.

- Fitting and handover. We fit, seal and make good, then hand over product data, warranties and any certificate paperwork.

Common questions
Are domes safe to walk on?
No. Treat any rooflight as fragile unless it is specifically certified non-fragile, and never stand on it.
Do domes leak?
Leaks are usually at the upstand seal or the membrane. Replacing the dome and resealing often fixes it.
Should I replace a dome or switch to glass?
A dome is cheaper and quick; glass gives a clear view and better performance. On a tight budget, or a commercial roof with many units, domes remain sensible.
Can domes open?
Hinged and vented domes are available, manual or electric.
Do you fit dome rooflights across Cheshire?
Yes. We survey and fit dome rooflights across Cheshire, including Warrington, Chester, Crewe.
