Sun tunnels & tubular skylights in Blairgowrie: what is involved?
Sun tunnels & tubular skylights in Blairgowrie means light pipes that bring daylight to halls and bathrooms with no window. We cover the PH10 district and the rest of Perth and Kinross, with a survey before any price is fixed.
Tenements and flats are common in Scottish towns and cities, where rooflights over stairwells and top-floor flats need the owners' and factor's agreement. In Blairgowrie, as anywhere, sun tunnels & tubular skylights are the usual choice for windowless hallways, landings and bathrooms.
Neighbouring towns include Perth (23 km) and Kirriemuir (23 km). We offer a survey date when we reply to your enquiry.

Do you need permission in Blairgowrie?
Scottish householder permitted development (Class 2B, other external alterations) can cover a rooflight that projects no more than 1 metre from the roof, but the right does not apply in conservation areas. Flats and tenements are outside householder permitted development, so check with the planning authority first.
Scotland's Technical Handbook (section 6) asks for windows, doors and rooflights in an extension to average 1.4–1.6 W/m²K, with no single unit worse than 3.3 W/m²K. Replacing a rooflight, frame included, does not need a building warrant, but the work must still meet the building standards.
See our building regulations guide for U-values, glazing limits and self-certification.

Rigid or flexible tube?
Rigid tubes carry much more light. Flexible tubes are easier where the loft is cluttered, but lose light faster.
Can it work at night?
Some models include a light fitting in the diffuser.
Will it get condensation?
Insulating the tube where it passes through a cold loft prevents most condensation.
