Sun tunnels & tubular skylights for Pontefract: the essentials
We handle sun tunnels & tubular skylights across West Yorkshire, including Pontefract. In short: light pipes that bring daylight to halls and bathrooms with no window. The survey checks structure, weathering and orientation, so the quote reflects your actual roof.
Converted barns and mills in Yorkshire often suit bespoke or ridge rooflights that follow the original structure. In Pontefract, as anywhere, sun tunnels & tubular skylights are the usual choice for small internal rooms where a full rooflight will not fit.
Neighbouring towns include Castleford (5 km) and Wakefield (12 km). We offer a survey date when we reply to your enquiry.

Planning, building control and Pontefract
In England a rooflight on a house is usually permitted development under Class C if it projects no more than 150 mm beyond the roof slope and sits no higher than the ridge. A rooflight on a side-facing slope must be obscure-glazed, and fixed shut unless the opening part is more than 1.7 m above the floor.
For English homes the energy rules ask for rooflights of 2.2 W/m²K or better and roof windows of 1.4 W/m²K (or WER Band B); most modern double glazed units meet both. The Future Homes and Buildings Standards, published in March 2026, apply from 24 March 2027 and keep the 2.2 W/m²K limit for rooflights.

Yes, with a flat-roof flashing and upstand.
Is the survey in Pontefract free?

Can you work alongside my builder in Pontefract?
Yes. On new extensions we fit once the opening and upstand are ready and coordinate dates with your builder.
