Skylights and rooflights across Bristol
We survey, supply and fit skylights and rooflights across Bristol, including Bristol, Clifton and Fishponds.
Many South West towns mix Georgian and Victorian terraces with modern estates, so the right product differs street by street.
Stone cottages, slate roofs and conservation areas are common in the South West, and conservation-profile rooflights keep the roofline quiet.

Planning and building rules in England
Most rooflights on English houses do not need planning permission, provided they keep within 150 mm of the roof surface and below the ridge line. A rooflight on a side-facing slope must be obscure-glazed, and fixed shut unless the opening part is more than 1.7 m above the floor.
Under Approved Document L, a rooflight added to an English home must achieve at least 2.2 W/m²K (horizontal plane), and a roof window 1.4 W/m²K or Window Energy Rating Band B. The Future Homes and Buildings Standards, published in March 2026, apply from 24 March 2027 and keep the 2.2 W/m²K limit for rooflights.

Common questions
Do you cover all of Bristol?
Yes. We survey and fit across Bristol, including Bristol, Clifton and Fishponds. Remote and island addresses are by arrangement.
Do I need planning permission for a rooflight in Bristol?
Most rooflights on English houses do not need planning permission, provided they keep within 150 mm of the roof surface and below the ridge line.
How quickly can you fit?
Manufacturers typically quote two to four weeks for standard rooflights; bespoke, structural and motorised units take longer. Your quote states the lead time.
What guarantees do I get?
Products carry the manufacturer's own warranty, which we pass to you with the product data. Our workmanship terms are set out in the quote.
Will a rooflight make my room too hot?
It can on a south-facing roof with clear glass. Solar-control glass, an opening unit and a blind keep the room comfortable.
