What we fit in Castlereagh
We survey, supply and fit skylights and rooflights in Castlereagh and the BT5 district — flat rooflights, roof lanterns, roof windows, walk-on glass, sun tunnels and commercial rooflights.
Many Northern Irish homes have later flat-roofed kitchen extensions where an old dome can be swapped for glass.
Castlereagh is around 17 km from Bangor, County Down, and we survey and fit throughout that part of County Down, including the BT5 district.

Planning and building rules in Northern Ireland
Most rooflights on houses in Northern Ireland are permitted development under Class B, but not in a conservation area or on a listed building's curtilage. Listed buildings also need listed building consent from the council.
For homes in Northern Ireland, Technical Booklet F1 sets 1.6 W/m²K (or WER Band C) for replacement glazing including rooflights. New dwellings must average 1.40 W/m²K across windows, roof windows and rooflights.

Skylight questions: Castlereagh
Do I need to be at home for the survey in Castlereagh?
Yes — someone needs to let us into the room below and, where possible, show us how the roof is reached.
Do you fit skylights and rooflights in Castlereagh?
Yes. We survey and fit skylights and rooflights in Castlereagh and across County Down. Send your postcode and we will offer a survey date when we reply.
How do I book a survey in Castlereagh?
Send your postcode and, if you can, a photo of the roof and the room. We offer a survey date when we reply.
Will I need planning permission in Castlereagh?
In Northern Ireland, roof alterations come under Class B of the 2015 order: a rooflight facing a road must not project more than 15 cm and must sit at least 0.5 m from the ridge, eaves, verge and party wall.
Will a rooflight make my room too hot?
It can on a south-facing roof with clear glass. Solar-control glass, an opening unit and a blind keep the room comfortable.
What guarantees do I get?
Products carry the manufacturer's own warranty, which we pass to you with the product data. Our workmanship terms are set out in the quote.
