Skylights and rooflights across Gwent
We survey, supply and fit skylights and rooflights across Gwent, including Newport, Gwent, Cwmbran and Pontypool.
Chapels, barns and farm buildings converted across Wales often need bespoke or conservation-style glass.
Many Welsh homes have older single-storey rear extensions where a glass rooflight brightens a dark kitchen.

Planning and building rules in Wales
In Wales a rooflight on a house is usually permitted development if it stands no more than 15 cm proud of the roof, except on protected land such as conservation areas and National Parks, where permission is needed. Listed buildings need listed building consent from the council, and flats have no householder permitted development rights.
In Wales the limiting values are 2.2 W/m²K for a rooflight and 1.4 W/m²K (or WER Band B) for a roof window in an existing house. A revised Welsh Approved Document L takes effect on 4 March 2027; rooflights in new dwellings stay at 2.2 W/m²K.

Common questions
Do you cover all of Gwent?
Yes. We survey and fit across Gwent, including Newport, Gwent, Cwmbran and Pontypool. Remote and island addresses are by arrangement.
Do I need planning permission for a rooflight in Gwent?
Planning rules in Wales are tighter than in England for rooflights: Class C rights do not apply in conservation areas, National Parks or AONBs, so a rooflight there needs planning permission.
