What we fit in Rugby
From flat-roof extensions to period slate roofs, we fit the right rooflight for the building in Rugby — after a survey, with a fixed written price.
Many Midlands semis have had a single-storey rear extension added, and a larger flat rooflight or lantern is often the change that makes it feel finished.
From Rugby to Daventry, Coventry and Bedworth, the same survey-first process applies: measure, specify, fix the price, then fit.

Planning and building rules in England
In England a rooflight on a house is usually permitted development under Class C if it projects no more than 150 mm beyond the roof slope and sits no higher than the ridge. A rooflight on a side-facing slope must be obscure-glazed, and fixed shut unless the opening part is more than 1.7 m above the floor.
Building Regulations Approved Document L sets a limiting U-value of 2.2 W/m²K for new or replacement rooflights in existing homes, measured in the horizontal plane; roof windows need 1.4 W/m²K or a Band B energy rating. The Future Homes and Buildings Standards, published in March 2026, apply from 24 March 2027 and keep the 2.2 W/m²K limit for rooflights.

Skylight questions: Rugby
Do you fit skylights and rooflights in Rugby?
Yes. We survey and fit skylights and rooflights in Rugby and across Warwickshire. Send your postcode and we will offer a survey date when we reply.
Can you work alongside my builder in Rugby?
Yes. On new extensions we fit once the opening and upstand are ready and coordinate dates with your builder.
Do I need to be at home for the survey in Rugby?
Yes — someone needs to let us into the room below and, where possible, show us how the roof is reached.
How do I book a survey in Rugby?
Send your postcode and, if you can, a photo of the roof and the room. We offer a survey date when we reply.
Fixed or opening?
Opening units suit kitchens, bathrooms and bedrooms; fixed units are simpler and cheaper where the room already ventilates well.
Will a rooflight make my room too hot?
It can on a south-facing roof with clear glass. Solar-control glass, an opening unit and a blind keep the room comfortable.
