Bespoke & shaped rooflights for Windsor: the essentials
Thinking about bespoke & shaped rooflights in Windsor? The short answer: triangular, angled, curved and multi-pane rooflights made to measure. The longer answer depends on your roof, which is why we survey before we price.
Orangery-style extensions with lanterns are popular across the South East, and solar-control glass makes a big difference on south-facing gardens. In Windsor, as anywhere, bespoke & shaped rooflights are the usual choice for angled ceilings, corners and architect-designed extensions.
Windsor sits about 3 km from Slough and 7 km from Egham, and we cover the whole SL4 postcode district and the roads in between.

Planning, building control and Windsor
English householder permitted development (Class C) normally covers rooflights that stand no more than 0.15 m proud of the roof plane and stay below the highest part of the roof. A rooflight on a side-facing slope must be obscure-glazed, and fixed shut unless the opening part is more than 1.7 m above the floor.
For English homes the energy rules ask for rooflights of 2.2 W/m²K or better and roof windows of 1.4 W/m²K (or WER Band B); most modern double glazed units meet both. The Future Homes and Buildings Standards, published in March 2026, apply from 24 March 2027 and keep the 2.2 W/m²K limit for rooflights.
See our building regulations guide for U-values, glazing limits and self-certification.
