How we approach bespoke & shaped rooflights in Kirkintilloch
Our bespoke & shaped rooflights service in Kirkintilloch covers triangular, angled, curved and multi-pane rooflights made to measure. Every job starts with a survey of the opening, the roof covering and the room below, and a fixed written price.
Scottish weather is hard on roofs, so we specify rooflights and roof windows with exposure in mind and fit upstands with generous heights. Bespoke & shaped rooflights suit openings that standard sizes do not fit.
Neighbouring towns include Bishopbriggs (5 km) and Cumbernauld (10 km). We offer a survey date when we reply to your enquiry.

Planning, building control and Kirkintilloch
Scottish householder permitted development (Class 2B, other external alterations) can cover a rooflight that projects no more than 1 metre from the roof, but the right does not apply in conservation areas. Listed buildings need listed building consent where the work affects their character.
Scotland's Technical Handbook (section 6) asks for windows, doors and rooflights in an extension to average 1.4–1.6 W/m²K, with no single unit worse than 3.3 W/m²K. Forming a new opening normally involves structural work, so check with the local authority verifier whether a building warrant is needed.
Read the planning permission guide before you commit to a design.

Bespoke & shaped rooflights in Kirkintilloch: questions
Will a shaped rooflight leak more?
Not if detailed properly — corners and junctions just need more care.
Can I cancel a bespoke order?
Made-to-measure goods are excluded from the statutory 14-day cancellation right. As a goodwill gesture you can cancel without charge until we place the order with the manufacturer, and we tell you in writing when that happens.
Why does bespoke take longer?
Each unit is drawn, checked and manufactured to order.
Is the survey in Kirkintilloch free?
Yes for new installations. Repair visits are charged, and we tell you the price before we book.
Will I need planning permission in Kirkintilloch?
In Scotland most rooflights on houses fall under Class 2B permitted development; in a conservation area, or on a listed building, consent is needed.
