Bespoke & shaped rooflights in Coatbridge: what is involved?
Our bespoke & shaped rooflights service in Coatbridge covers triangular, angled, curved and multi-pane rooflights made to measure. Every job starts with a survey of the opening, the roof covering and the room below, and a fixed written price.
Stone villas, cottages and conservation areas across Scotland often call for conservation rooflights in slate roofs. Think of bespoke & shaped rooflights for openings that standard sizes do not fit.
From Coatbridge to Airdrie, Motherwell and Cumbernauld, the same survey-first process applies: measure, specify, fix the price, then fit.

Consents for bespoke & shaped rooflights in Coatbridge
In Scotland most rooflights on houses fall under Class 2B permitted development; in a conservation area, or on a listed building, consent is needed. Listed buildings need listed building consent where the work affects their character.
Scottish energy standards for glazing, including rooflights, use an area-weighted average of 1.4–1.6 W/m²K in extensions, so most modern units comply comfortably. Forming a new opening normally involves structural work, so check with the local authority verifier whether a building warrant is needed.

Bespoke & shaped rooflights in Coatbridge: questions
Can bespoke units open?
Some can. Shaped glass is usually fixed, combined with a standard opening unit elsewhere.
Do you need my architect's drawings?
They help. We still survey on site, because built openings rarely match drawings exactly.
Can any shape be made?
Most straight-edged shapes can be made in glass, within the manufacturer's size and angle limits. Curved glass is possible but specialist.
Is the survey in Coatbridge free?
Yes for new installations. Repair visits are charged, and we tell you the price before we book.
How do I book a survey in Coatbridge?
Send your postcode and, if you can, a photo of the roof and the room. We offer a survey date when we reply.
