What do bespoke & shaped rooflights in East Kilbride involve?
We handle bespoke & shaped rooflights across Lanarkshire, including East Kilbride. In short: triangular, angled, curved and multi-pane rooflights made to measure. The survey checks structure, weathering and orientation, so the quote reflects your actual roof.
Stone villas, cottages and conservation areas across Scotland often call for conservation rooflights in slate roofs. In East Kilbride, as anywhere, bespoke & shaped rooflights are the usual choice for angled ceilings, corners and architect-designed extensions.
East Kilbride is the main town we list in Lanarkshire; we also cover nearby Cambuslang and Rutherglen.

Consents for bespoke & shaped rooflights in East Kilbride
Planning rules in Scotland differ: rooflights are treated as external alterations under Class 2B, with no permitted development in conservation areas. Flats and tenements are outside householder permitted development, so check with the planning authority first.
Under the Scottish building standards, replacement rooflights should average 1.6 W/m²K or better, and no individual unit should exceed 3.3 W/m²K. Forming a new opening normally involves structural work, so check with the local authority verifier whether a building warrant is needed.
