How we approach bespoke & shaped rooflights in Gainsborough
Bespoke & shaped rooflights in Gainsborough means triangular, angled, curved and multi-pane rooflights made to measure. We cover the DN21 district and the rest of Lincolnshire, with a survey before any price is fixed.
Bungalows are common across parts of the Midlands, and sun tunnels or roof windows are a quick way to brighten internal hallways. Think of bespoke & shaped rooflights for openings that standard sizes do not fit.
Gainsborough is around 23 km from Lincoln, and we survey and fit throughout that part of Lincolnshire, including the DN21 district.
What you can choose
- Triangular and trapezoid panes
- Concealed or slim frames
- Sloped or monopitch rooflights
- Corner and wrap-around glazing
- Solar-control and low-iron glass
- Glass shaped to the architecture
- Drawing sign-off before order
What to check first
- Structural support must be designed in
- Large panes need a lifting plan
Consents for bespoke & shaped rooflights in Gainsborough
In England a rooflight on a house is usually permitted development under Class C if it projects no more than 150 mm beyond the roof slope and sits no higher than the ridge. A rooflight on a side-facing slope must be obscure-glazed, and fixed shut unless the opening part is more than 1.7 m above the floor.
For English homes the energy rules ask for rooflights of 2.2 W/m²K or better and roof windows of 1.4 W/m²K (or WER Band B); most modern double glazed units meet both. Replacing a rooflight or roof window can be self-certified by an installer registered with an authorised competent person scheme; otherwise building control approval is needed.
