Bespoke & shaped rooflights for Lincoln: the essentials
Thinking about bespoke & shaped rooflights in Lincoln? The short answer: triangular, angled, curved and multi-pane rooflights made to measure. The longer answer depends on your roof, which is why we survey before we price.
Many Midlands semis have had a single-storey rear extension added, and a larger flat rooflight or lantern is often the change that makes it feel finished. In Lincoln, as anywhere, bespoke & shaped rooflights are the usual choice for openings that standard sizes do not fit.
We cover all of Lincoln and the LN2 district, and nearby Gainsborough and Newark-on-Trent.

Do you need permission in Lincoln?
English householder permitted development (Class C) normally covers rooflights that stand no more than 0.15 m proud of the roof plane and stay below the highest part of the roof. A rooflight on a side-facing slope must be obscure-glazed, and fixed shut unless the opening part is more than 1.7 m above the floor.
For English homes the energy rules ask for rooflights of 2.2 W/m²K or better and roof windows of 1.4 W/m²K (or WER Band B); most modern double glazed units meet both. Replacing a rooflight or roof window can be self-certified by an installer registered with an authorised competent person scheme; otherwise building control approval is needed.
Read the planning permission guide before you commit to a design.

Bespoke & shaped rooflights in Lincoln: questions
Can I cancel a bespoke order?
Made-to-measure goods are excluded from the statutory 14-day cancellation right. As a goodwill gesture you can cancel without charge until we place the order with the manufacturer, and we tell you in writing when that happens.
Can bespoke units open?
Some can. Shaped glass is usually fixed, combined with a standard opening unit elsewhere.
Will a shaped rooflight leak more?
Not if detailed properly — corners and junctions just need more care.
Is the survey in Lincoln free?
Yes for new installations. Repair visits are charged, and we tell you the price before we book.
Can you work alongside my builder in Lincoln?
Yes. On new extensions we fit once the opening and upstand are ready and coordinate dates with your builder.
