Commercial & industrial rooflights for Kendal: the essentials
Commercial & industrial rooflights in Kendal means rooflights for warehouses, schools, offices and retail units. We cover the LA9 district and the rest of Cumbria, with a survey before any price is fixed.
Converted mills and warehouses in the North West often have large rooflights or glass roofs that need specialist replacement. In Kendal, as anywhere, commercial & industrial rooflights are the usual choice for warehouses, schools, offices and retail units.
From Kendal to Ulverston, Morecambe and Lancaster, the same survey-first process applies: measure, specify, fix the price, then fit.
What you can choose
- GRP or polycarbonate in-plane rooflight sheets
- Polycarbonate domes
- Mesh or grilles under fragile areas
- Smoke and natural ventilation vents
- Modular glass rooflights
- Planned around working sites
- Smoke-vent options where needed
Before you order: points to check
- Non-fragility classification should be confirmed for new products
- Asbestos surveys may be needed on older roofs
Regulations for commercial & industrial rooflights in Kendal
On commercial roofs the main questions are usually building control, fire classification of rooflight materials and safe access rather than householder permitted development. Product data for building control is supplied with every quote.
For buildings other than dwellings, Approved Document L Volume 2 sets limiting U-values of 2.2 W/m²K for rooflights and 3.0 W/m²K for roof ventilators, including smoke vents. Fragile-roof safety and access are planned before work starts.
Read the planning permission guide before you commit to a design.
