How we approach commercial & industrial rooflights in Jedburgh
Thinking about commercial & industrial rooflights in Jedburgh? The short answer: rooflights for warehouses, schools, offices and retail units. The longer answer depends on your roof, which is why we survey before we price.
Tenements and flats are common in Scottish towns and cities, where rooflights over stairwells and top-floor flats need the owners' and factor's agreement. Think of commercial & industrial rooflights for industrial roofs with tired or fragile rooflight sheets.
Jedburgh is around 22 km from Galashiels, and we survey and fit throughout that part of the Scottish Borders, including the TD8 district.
What you can choose
- Smoke and natural ventilation vents
- Modular glass rooflights
- GRP or polycarbonate in-plane rooflight sheets
- Polycarbonate domes
- Mesh or grilles under fragile areas
- Replacement of discoloured or fragile sheets
- Smoke-vent options where needed
Before you order: points to check
- Fire performance of rooflight materials matters near boundaries
- Fragile rooflights are a known fall hazard — work at height must be planned
Building control and safety duties in Jedburgh
On commercial roofs the main questions are usually building control, fire classification of rooflight materials and safe access rather than householder permitted development. We confirm the route for your building before ordering.
For non-domestic buildings in Scotland, the non-domestic Technical Handbook (section 6) sets the energy standards for rooflights; we supply the manufacturer's data for the building warrant. Fragile-roof safety and access are planned before work starts.
Read the planning permission guide before you commit to a design.
