How we approach commercial & industrial rooflights in Walton-on-Thames
We handle commercial & industrial rooflights across Surrey, including Walton-on-Thames. In short: rooflights for warehouses, schools, offices and retail units. The survey checks structure, weathering and orientation, so the quote reflects your actual roof.
Orangery-style extensions with lanterns are popular across the South East, and solar-control glass makes a big difference on south-facing gardens. Commercial & industrial rooflights suit warehouses, schools, offices and retail units.
Walton-on-Thames is around 13 km from Woking, and we survey and fit throughout that part of Surrey, including the KT12 district.
What you can choose
- GRP or polycarbonate in-plane rooflight sheets
- Mesh or grilles under fragile areas
- Polycarbonate domes
- Modular glass rooflights
- Continuous barrel-vault rooflights
- Daylight that reduces daytime lighting
- Barrel vaults, ridge lights and modular glass
Things we check at survey
- Non-fragility classification should be confirmed for new products
- Asbestos surveys may be needed on older roofs
Regulations for commercial & industrial rooflights in Walton-on-Thames
On commercial roofs the main questions are usually building control, fire classification of rooflight materials and safe access rather than householder permitted development. We confirm the route for your building before ordering.
For buildings other than dwellings, Approved Document L Volume 2 sets limiting U-values of 2.2 W/m²K for rooflights and 3.0 W/m²K for roof ventilators, including smoke vents. Fragile-roof safety and access are planned before work starts.
Our planning guide covers each nation in more detail.
