Dome rooflights in Clwyd: the essentials
Across Clwyd, our dome rooflights work covers polycarbonate and acrylic domes for flat roofs, new or replacement. Survey first, fixed price second, fitting third.
Wales sees a lot of wind-driven rain, particularly in the west, so upstand height and flashing laps matter more than anywhere. Welsh planning rules exclude rooflights from permitted development in conservation areas and National Parks, so we check the designation before quoting.

Planning and building rules in Wales
On commercial roofs the main questions are usually building control, fire classification of rooflight materials and safe access rather than householder permitted development. Product data for building control is supplied with every quote.
For non-domestic buildings in Wales, Approved Document L sets limiting U-values for rooflights and roof ventilators; we supply the manufacturer's data for the building control submission. Fragile-roof safety and access are planned before work starts.

Common questions
Do domes leak?
Leaks are usually at the upstand seal or the membrane. Replacing the dome and resealing often fixes it.
Should I replace a dome or switch to glass?
A dome is cheaper and quick; glass gives a clear view and better performance. On a tight budget, or a commercial roof with many units, domes remain sensible.
Can domes open?
Hinged and vented domes are available, manual or electric.
Are domes safe to walk on?
No. Treat any rooflight as fragile unless it is specifically certified non-fragile, and never stand on it.
Do you fit dome rooflights across Clwyd?
Yes. We survey and fit dome rooflights across Clwyd, including Wrexham, Buckley, Deeside.
