Dome rooflights for Kirkcudbright: the essentials
Thinking about dome rooflights in Kirkcudbright? The short answer: polycarbonate and acrylic domes for flat roofs, new or replacement. The longer answer depends on your roof, which is why we survey before we price.
Tenements and flats are common in Scottish towns and cities, where rooflights over stairwells and top-floor flats need the owners' and factor's agreement. Typical uses for dome rooflights include older flat roofs with yellowed or leaking domes.
From Kirkcudbright to Castle Douglas, Newton Stewart and Dumfries, the same survey-first process applies: measure, specify, fix the price, then fit.
What you can choose
- Fall-through protection mesh
- Clear, opal or tinted
- Polycarbonate or acrylic
- Fixed or hinged with vent
- Twin, triple or quad skin
- Quick replacement on existing upstands
- Low cost per unit
Before you order: points to check
- Plastic domes have a lower acoustic and thermal performance than glass
- Upstand condition decides whether you replace dome only or the whole unit
Regulations for dome rooflights in Kirkcudbright
For non-domestic buildings, planning depends on the building and its location; building regulations cover thermal performance and the fire classification of rooflights near boundaries. We confirm the route for your building before ordering.
For non-domestic buildings in Scotland, the non-domestic Technical Handbook (section 6) sets the energy standards for rooflights; we supply the manufacturer's data for the building warrant. Fire classification of rooflight materials near boundaries is checked at specification.
