Dome rooflights in Musselburgh: what is involved?
Our dome rooflights service in Musselburgh covers polycarbonate and acrylic domes for flat roofs, new or replacement. Every job starts with a survey of the opening, the roof covering and the room below, and a fixed written price.
Tenements and flats are common in Scottish towns and cities, where rooflights over stairwells and top-floor flats need the owners' and factor's agreement. Dome rooflights suit schools, flats and commercial flat roofs.
Neighbouring towns include Dalkeith (6 km) and Edinburgh (9 km). We offer a survey date when we reply to your enquiry.

Rules and responsibilities in Musselburgh
On commercial roofs the main questions are usually building control, fire classification of rooflight materials and safe access rather than householder permitted development. Product data for building control is supplied with every quote.
For non-domestic buildings in Scotland, the non-domestic Technical Handbook (section 6) sets the energy standards for rooflights; we supply the manufacturer's data for the building warrant. Fragile-roof safety and access are planned before work starts.
Read the planning permission guide before you commit to a design.

Dome rooflights in Musselburgh: questions
Why has my dome gone yellow?
UV breaks down older plastics over time. Modern domes have UV-protective layers, but all plastics age.
Can domes open?
Hinged and vented domes are available, manual or electric.
Do domes leak?
Leaks are usually at the upstand seal or the membrane. Replacing the dome and resealing often fixes it.
Do you fit dome rooflights in Musselburgh?
Yes. We survey and fit dome rooflights in Musselburgh and across Edinburgh and the Lothians. Send your postcode and we will offer a survey date when we reply.
Can you work alongside my builder in Musselburgh?
Yes. On new extensions we fit once the opening and upstand are ready and coordinate dates with your builder.
