How we approach dome rooflights in Southend-on-Sea
Dome rooflights in Southend-on-Sea means polycarbonate and acrylic domes for flat roofs, new or replacement. We cover the SS1 district and the rest of Essex, with a survey before any price is fixed.
Coastal towns in the East of England see salty air, so we specify frame finishes and fixings with exposure in mind. Think of dome rooflights for schools, flats and commercial flat roofs.
Southend-on-Sea is the main town we list in Essex; we also cover nearby Rayleigh and Canvey Island.
What you can choose

Things we check at survey
- Old domes may be fragile — treat as fragile until checked

Regulations for dome rooflights in Southend-on-Sea
For non-domestic buildings, planning depends on the building and its location; building regulations cover thermal performance and the fire classification of rooflights near boundaries. We confirm the route for your building before ordering.
For buildings other than dwellings, Approved Document L Volume 2 sets limiting U-values of 2.2 W/m²K for rooflights and 3.0 W/m²K for roof ventilators, including smoke vents. Fragile-roof safety and access are planned before work starts.
Read the planning permission guide before you commit to a design.
