What do dome rooflights in Maesteg involve?
We handle dome rooflights across Mid Glamorgan, including Maesteg. In short: polycarbonate and acrylic domes for flat roofs, new or replacement. The survey checks structure, weathering and orientation, so the quote reflects your actual roof.
Many Welsh homes have older single-storey rear extensions where a glass rooflight brightens a dark kitchen. Typical uses for dome rooflights include older flat roofs with yellowed or leaking domes.
Maesteg sits about 9 km from Port Talbot and 11 km from Briton Ferry, and we cover the whole CF34 postcode district and the roads in between.

Before you order: points to check

Building control and safety duties in Maesteg
On commercial roofs the main questions are usually building control, fire classification of rooflight materials and safe access rather than householder permitted development. We confirm the route for your building before ordering.
For non-domestic buildings in Wales, Approved Document L sets limiting U-values for rooflights and roof ventilators; we supply the manufacturer's data for the building control submission. Fragile-roof safety and access are planned before work starts.
Read the planning permission guide before you commit to a design.
What do dome rooflights cost in Maesteg?
These are typical supply-and-fit ranges. For an address in Maesteg, scaffold, a hoist for heavy glass, or a new structural opening can move the figure, which is why we survey first.

Questions about dome rooflights in Maesteg
Why has my dome gone yellow?
UV breaks down older plastics over time. Modern domes have UV-protective layers, but all plastics age.
Are domes safe to walk on?
No. Treat any rooflight as fragile unless it is specifically certified non-fragile, and never stand on it.
Can domes open?
Hinged and vented domes are available, manual or electric.
How do I book a survey in Maesteg?
Send your postcode and, if you can, a photo of the roof and the room. We offer a survey date when we reply.
Can you work alongside my builder in Maesteg?
Yes. On new extensions we fit once the opening and upstand are ready and coordinate dates with your builder.
