Dome rooflights in Bridgnorth: what is involved?
Thinking about dome rooflights in Bridgnorth? The short answer: polycarbonate and acrylic domes for flat roofs, new or replacement. The longer answer depends on your roof, which is why we survey before we price.
Many Midlands semis have had a single-storey rear extension added, and a larger flat rooflight or lantern is often the change that makes it feel finished. In Bridgnorth, as anywhere, dome rooflights are the usual choice for older flat roofs with yellowed or leaking domes.
Bridgnorth is around 16 km from Telford, and we survey and fit throughout that part of Shropshire, including the WV16 district.
Specification options

Before you order: points to check
- Fire classification matters on some roofs
- Plastic domes have a lower acoustic and thermal performance than glass
Building control and safety duties in Bridgnorth
On commercial roofs the main questions are usually building control, fire classification of rooflight materials and safe access rather than householder permitted development. We confirm the route for your building before ordering.
For buildings other than dwellings, Approved Document L Volume 2 sets limiting U-values of 2.2 W/m²K for rooflights and 3.0 W/m²K for roof ventilators, including smoke vents. Fragile-roof safety and access are planned before work starts.
Read the planning permission guide before you commit to a design.
