What do skylight blinds & solar control in Caernarfon involve?
Our skylight blinds & solar control service in Caernarfon covers electric blinds, blackout and solar-control upgrades for rooflights. Every job starts with a survey of the opening, the roof covering and the room below, and a fixed written price.
Wales sees a lot of wind-driven rain, particularly in the west, so upstand height and flashing laps matter more than anywhere. Think of skylight blinds & solar control for bedrooms, nurseries and south-facing kitchens.

Do you need permission in Caernarfon?
Welsh householder permitted development (Class C) allows rooflights that project no more than 15 cm and sit no higher than the existing roof — but not in conservation areas, National Parks, AONBs or World Heritage Sites. Listed buildings need listed building consent from the council, and flats have no householder permitted development rights.
Welsh Building Regulations expect new or replacement rooflights to reach 2.2 W/m²K and roof windows 1.4 W/m²K or a Band B rating. A revised Welsh Approved Document L takes effect on 4 March 2027; rooflights in new dwellings stay at 2.2 W/m²K.
Read the planning permission guide before you commit to a design.
