Skylights and rooflights across Cambridgeshire
We survey, supply and fit skylights and rooflights across Cambridgeshire, including Peterborough, Cambridge and Wisbech.
In the East of England, bungalows and chalet bungalows with large flat-roofed extensions are common, and they often suit a long run of rooflights.
Barn conversions and timber-framed homes across the East often call for conservation rooflights or bespoke glass.

Planning and building rules in England
Most rooflights on English houses do not need planning permission, provided they keep within 150 mm of the roof surface and below the ridge line. A rooflight on a side-facing slope must be obscure-glazed, and fixed shut unless the opening part is more than 1.7 m above the floor.
Under Approved Document L, a rooflight added to an English home must achieve at least 2.2 W/m²K (horizontal plane), and a roof window 1.4 W/m²K or Window Energy Rating Band B. The Future Homes and Buildings Standards, published in March 2026, apply from 24 March 2027 and keep the 2.2 W/m²K limit for rooflights.

Common questions
Do you cover all of Cambridgeshire?
Yes. We survey and fit across Cambridgeshire, including Peterborough, Cambridge and Wisbech. Remote and island addresses are by arrangement.
Do I need planning permission for a rooflight in Cambridgeshire?
English householder permitted development (Class C) normally covers rooflights that stand no more than 0.15 m proud of the roof plane and stay below the highest part of the roof.
Will a rooflight make my room too hot?
It can on a south-facing roof with clear glass. Solar-control glass, an opening unit and a blind keep the room comfortable.
Is the survey free?
Yes, for new installations. Repair and maintenance visits are charged, and we tell you the visit price first.
How do I get a price?
Use the guide-price tool for an instant range, or send the form with your postcode and a photo for a fixed quote after survey.
