Bespoke & shaped rooflights in Colwyn Bay: what is involved?
Bespoke & shaped rooflights in Colwyn Bay means triangular, angled, curved and multi-pane rooflights made to measure. We cover the LL29 district and the rest of Clwyd, with a survey before any price is fixed.
Wales sees a lot of wind-driven rain, particularly in the west, so upstand height and flashing laps matter more than anywhere. Think of bespoke & shaped rooflights for angled ceilings, corners and architect-designed extensions.
From Colwyn Bay to Rhyl, Bangor, Gwynedd and Llangefni, the same survey-first process applies: measure, specify, fix the price, then fit.
Options we can specify in Colwyn Bay

Planning and building rules for Colwyn Bay
Planning rules in Wales are tighter than in England for rooflights: Class C rights do not apply in conservation areas, National Parks or AONBs, so a rooflight there needs planning permission. Listed buildings need listed building consent from the council, and flats have no householder permitted development rights.
Welsh Building Regulations expect new or replacement rooflights to reach 2.2 W/m²K and roof windows 1.4 W/m²K or a Band B rating. Wales also has its own overheating rules (Part O) for new homes, in force since November 2022.
See our building regulations guide for U-values, glazing limits and self-certification.

Questions about bespoke & shaped rooflights in Colwyn Bay
Can I cancel a bespoke order?
Made-to-measure goods are excluded from the statutory 14-day cancellation right. As a goodwill gesture you can cancel without charge until we place the order with the manufacturer, and we tell you in writing when that happens.
Do you need my architect's drawings?
They help. We still survey on site, because built openings rarely match drawings exactly.
Will a shaped rooflight leak more?
Not if detailed properly — corners and junctions just need more care.
How do I book a survey in Colwyn Bay?
Send your postcode and, if you can, a photo of the roof and the room. We offer a survey date when we reply.
Do I need to be at home for the survey in Colwyn Bay?
Yes — someone needs to let us into the room below and, where possible, show us how the roof is reached.
