Bespoke & shaped rooflights in Llangefni: what is involved?
We handle bespoke & shaped rooflights across Gwynedd, including Llangefni. In short: triangular, angled, curved and multi-pane rooflights made to measure. The survey checks structure, weathering and orientation, so the quote reflects your actual roof.
Slate roofs, stone cottages and terraced valleys are typical across Wales, and slim rooflights that sit low in the slates suit them best. Bespoke & shaped rooflights suit openings that standard sizes do not fit.
Llangefni sits about 12 km from Bangor, Gwynedd and 13 km from Caernarfon, and we cover the whole LL77 postcode district and the roads in between.

Consents for bespoke & shaped rooflights in Llangefni
Planning rules in Wales are tighter than in England for rooflights: Class C rights do not apply in conservation areas, National Parks or AONBs, so a rooflight there needs planning permission. A side-facing rooflight within 10.5 m of the boundary must be obscure-glazed, and non-opening unless the opening part is more than 1.7 m above the floor.
In Wales the limiting values are 2.2 W/m²K for a rooflight and 1.4 W/m²K (or WER Band B) for a roof window in an existing house. A revised Welsh Approved Document L takes effect on 4 March 2027; rooflights in new dwellings stay at 2.2 W/m²K.
Read the planning permission guide before you commit to a design.

Bespoke & shaped rooflights in Llangefni: questions
Can I cancel a bespoke order?
Made-to-measure goods are excluded from the statutory 14-day cancellation right. As a goodwill gesture you can cancel without charge until we place the order with the manufacturer, and we tell you in writing when that happens.
Will a shaped rooflight leak more?
Not if detailed properly — corners and junctions just need more care.
Do you need my architect's drawings?
They help. We still survey on site, because built openings rarely match drawings exactly.
Will I need planning permission in Llangefni?
Welsh householder permitted development (Class C) allows rooflights that project no more than 15 cm and sit no higher than the existing roof — but not in conservation areas, National Parks, AONBs or World Heritage Sites.
Is the survey in Llangefni free?
Yes for new installations. Repair visits are charged, and we tell you the price before we book.
