Bespoke & shaped rooflights for Magherafelt: the essentials
We handle bespoke & shaped rooflights across County Londonderry, including Magherafelt. In short: triangular, angled, curved and multi-pane rooflights made to measure. The survey checks structure, weathering and orientation, so the quote reflects your actual roof.
Northern Ireland has a mix of terraces, bungalows and rural farmhouses, and rooflights are a common upgrade when extending. Bespoke & shaped rooflights suit angled ceilings, corners and architect-designed extensions.
Magherafelt sits about 15 km from Cookstown and 24 km from Coalisland, and we cover the whole BT45 postcode district and the roads in between.

Planning and building rules for Magherafelt
In Northern Ireland, roof alterations come under Class B of the 2015 order: a rooflight facing a road must not project more than 15 cm and must sit at least 0.5 m from the ridge, eaves, verge and party wall. Listed buildings also need listed building consent from the council.
For homes in Northern Ireland, Technical Booklet F1 sets 1.6 W/m²K (or WER Band C) for replacement glazing including rooflights. Extensions follow a 25% glazing allowance in Technical Booklet F1.
See our building regulations guide for U-values, glazing limits and self-certification.

Most straight-edged shapes can be made in glass, within the manufacturer's size and angle limits. Curved glass is possible but specialist.

Will a shaped rooflight leak more?
Not if detailed properly — corners and junctions just need more care.
Is the survey in Magherafelt free?
Yes for new installations. Repair visits are charged, and we tell you the price before we book.
