Bespoke & shaped rooflights in Llanelli: what is involved?
Our bespoke & shaped rooflights service in Llanelli covers triangular, angled, curved and multi-pane rooflights made to measure. Every job starts with a survey of the opening, the roof covering and the room below, and a fixed written price.
Welsh planning rules exclude rooflights from permitted development in conservation areas and National Parks, so we check the designation before quoting. Think of bespoke & shaped rooflights for angled ceilings, corners and architect-designed extensions.
We cover all of Llanelli and the SA15 district, and nearby Gorseinon and Swansea.
Choices for your Llanelli project
- Multi-pane butt-jointed runs
- Sloped or monopitch rooflights
- Solar-control and low-iron glass
- Corner and wrap-around glazing
- Triangular and trapezoid panes
- Works with architects and builders
- Drawing sign-off before order
What to check first
- Longer lead times and no returns on made-to-measure glass
- Large panes need a lifting plan
Planning, building control and Llanelli
In Wales a rooflight on a house is usually permitted development if it stands no more than 15 cm proud of the roof, except on protected land such as conservation areas and National Parks, where permission is needed. A side-facing rooflight within 10.5 m of the boundary must be obscure-glazed, and non-opening unless the opening part is more than 1.7 m above the floor.
Welsh Building Regulations expect new or replacement rooflights to reach 2.2 W/m²K and roof windows 1.4 W/m²K or a Band B rating. A revised Welsh Approved Document L takes effect on 4 March 2027; rooflights in new dwellings stay at 2.2 W/m²K.
Read the planning permission guide before you commit to a design.

Questions about bespoke & shaped rooflights in Llanelli
Do you need my architect's drawings?
They help. We still survey on site, because built openings rarely match drawings exactly.
Can bespoke units open?
Some can. Shaped glass is usually fixed, combined with a standard opening unit elsewhere.
Will a shaped rooflight leak more?
Not if detailed properly — corners and junctions just need more care.
Is the survey in Llanelli free?
Yes for new installations. Repair visits are charged, and we tell you the price before we book.
Do I need to be at home for the survey in Llanelli?
Yes — someone needs to let us into the room below and, where possible, show us how the roof is reached.
