Bespoke & shaped rooflights for Thurso: the essentials
Bespoke & shaped rooflights in Thurso: by arrangement. In short, triangular, angled, curved and multi-pane rooflights made to measure. We confirm travel and timing before any survey is booked, then fix the price in writing.
Stone villas, cottages and conservation areas across Scotland often call for conservation rooflights in slate roofs. Typical uses for bespoke & shaped rooflights include openings that standard sizes do not fit.
We cover Thurso by arrangement: travel, ferries and weather affect what is practical, so we confirm what we can offer before quoting.

Planning and building rules for Thurso
Scottish householder permitted development (Class 2B, other external alterations) can cover a rooflight that projects no more than 1 metre from the roof, but the right does not apply in conservation areas. Flats and tenements are outside householder permitted development, so check with the planning authority first.
Scotland's Technical Handbook (section 6) asks for windows, doors and rooflights in an extension to average 1.4–1.6 W/m²K, with no single unit worse than 3.3 W/m²K. Forming a new opening normally involves structural work, so check with the local authority verifier whether a building warrant is needed.

Questions about bespoke & shaped rooflights in Thurso
Can I cancel a bespoke order?
Made-to-measure goods are excluded from the statutory 14-day cancellation right. As a goodwill gesture you can cancel without charge until we place the order with the manufacturer, and we tell you in writing when that happens.
Do you need my architect's drawings?
They help. We still survey on site, because built openings rarely match drawings exactly.
Can bespoke units open?
Some can. Shaped glass is usually fixed, combined with a standard opening unit elsewhere.
Do you offer bespoke & shaped rooflights in Thurso?
By arrangement. Thurso is a remote or island location, so send your postcode and photos and we will confirm what we can offer before any survey is booked.
Can you work alongside my builder in Thurso?
Yes. On new extensions we fit once the opening and upstand are ready and coordinate dates with your builder.
