How we approach dome rooflights in Enniskillen
Thinking about dome rooflights in Enniskillen? The short answer: polycarbonate and acrylic domes for flat roofs, new or replacement. The longer answer depends on your roof, which is why we survey before we price.
Bungalows are widespread in Northern Ireland, and sun tunnels or roof windows are an easy way to brighten internal hallways. In Enniskillen, as anywhere, dome rooflights are the usual choice for older flat roofs with yellowed or leaking domes.
Enniskillen is the main town we list in County Fermanagh; we also cover nearby Omagh and Strabane.
Choices for your Enniskillen project
- Twin, triple or quad skin
- Polycarbonate or acrylic
- Insulated PVC or GRP upstands
- Fall-through protection mesh
- Clear, opal or tinted
- Fixed, hinged or vented options
- Suits schools, flats and commercial roofs
What to check first
- Upstand condition decides whether you replace dome only or the whole unit
- Old domes may be fragile — treat as fragile until checked
Rules and responsibilities in Enniskillen
On commercial roofs the main questions are usually building control, fire classification of rooflight materials and safe access rather than householder permitted development. Product data for building control is supplied with every quote.
For non-domestic buildings in Northern Ireland, Technical Booklet F2 covers energy performance; we supply the manufacturer's data for building control. Fragile-roof safety and access are planned before work starts.
See our building regulations guide for U-values, glazing limits and self-certification.

Common questions
Why has my dome gone yellow?
UV breaks down older plastics over time. Modern domes have UV-protective layers, but all plastics age.
Are domes safe to walk on?
No. Treat any rooflight as fragile unless it is specifically certified non-fragile, and never stand on it.
Do domes leak?
Leaks are usually at the upstand seal or the membrane. Replacing the dome and resealing often fixes it.
Do I need to be at home for the survey in Enniskillen?
Yes — someone needs to let us into the room below and, where possible, show us how the roof is reached.
Do you fit dome rooflights in Enniskillen?
Yes. We survey and fit dome rooflights in Enniskillen and across County Fermanagh. Send your postcode and we will offer a survey date when we reply.
