How we approach dome rooflights in Welwyn Garden City
For Welwyn Garden City homes and buildings we offer dome rooflights: polycarbonate and acrylic domes for flat roofs, new or replacement. We measure first, specify to the opening and confirm any planning or building-control points before quoting.
Across the South East, single-storey kitchen extensions on 1930s semis and post-war detached houses are where most flat rooflights and lanterns go. Dome rooflights suit older flat roofs with yellowed or leaking domes.
We work across Hertfordshire, including Welwyn Garden City, and in neighbouring towns such as Hatfield and Hertford. Access, parking and how the glass reaches the roof are all checked at the survey.

Regulations for dome rooflights in Welwyn Garden City
For non-domestic buildings, planning depends on the building and its location; building regulations cover thermal performance and the fire classification of rooflights near boundaries. We confirm the route for your building before ordering.
For buildings other than dwellings, Approved Document L Volume 2 sets limiting U-values of 2.2 W/m²K for rooflights and 3.0 W/m²K for roof ventilators, including smoke vents. Fragile-roof safety and access are planned before work starts.
Our planning guide covers each nation in more detail.
