Dome rooflights in Newark-on-Trent: what is involved?
Our dome rooflights service in Newark-on-Trent covers polycarbonate and acrylic domes for flat roofs, new or replacement. Every job starts with a survey of the opening, the roof covering and the room below, and a fixed written price.
Many Midlands semis have had a single-storey rear extension added, and a larger flat rooflight or lantern is often the change that makes it feel finished. In Newark-on-Trent, as anywhere, dome rooflights are the usual choice for schools, flats and commercial flat roofs.
From Newark-on-Trent to Grantham, Arnold and Nottingham, the same survey-first process applies: measure, specify, fix the price, then fit.

Rules and responsibilities in Newark-on-Trent
For non-domestic buildings, planning depends on the building and its location; building regulations cover thermal performance and the fire classification of rooflights near boundaries. Product data for building control is supplied with every quote.
For buildings other than dwellings, Approved Document L Volume 2 sets limiting U-values of 2.2 W/m²K for rooflights and 3.0 W/m²K for roof ventilators, including smoke vents. Fire classification of rooflight materials near boundaries is checked at specification.
Our planning guide covers each nation in more detail.

Common questions
Can domes open?
Hinged and vented domes are available, manual or electric.
Do domes leak?
Leaks are usually at the upstand seal or the membrane. Replacing the dome and resealing often fixes it.
Why has my dome gone yellow?
UV breaks down older plastics over time. Modern domes have UV-protective layers, but all plastics age.
Do you fit dome rooflights in Newark-on-Trent?
Yes. We survey and fit dome rooflights in Newark-on-Trent and across Nottinghamshire. Send your postcode and we will offer a survey date when we reply.
Do I need to be at home for the survey in Newark-on-Trent?
Yes — someone needs to let us into the room below and, where possible, show us how the roof is reached.
