How we approach dome rooflights in Dewsbury
Our dome rooflights service in Dewsbury covers polycarbonate and acrylic domes for flat roofs, new or replacement. Every job starts with a survey of the opening, the roof covering and the room below, and a fixed written price.
Stone-built terraces are common across Yorkshire, and roof windows in the rear slope are a popular way to light attic rooms. Dome rooflights suit older flat roofs with yellowed or leaking domes.
We work across West Yorkshire, including Dewsbury, and in neighbouring towns such as Batley and Ossett. Access, parking and how the glass reaches the roof are all checked at the survey.

Things we check at survey

Building control and safety duties in Dewsbury
On commercial roofs the main questions are usually building control, fire classification of rooflight materials and safe access rather than householder permitted development. Product data for building control is supplied with every quote.
For buildings other than dwellings, Approved Document L Volume 2 sets limiting U-values of 2.2 W/m²K for rooflights and 3.0 W/m²K for roof ventilators, including smoke vents. Fragile-roof safety and access are planned before work starts.
Read the planning permission guide before you commit to a design.

Questions about dome rooflights in Dewsbury
Should I replace a dome or switch to glass?
A dome is cheaper and quick; glass gives a clear view and better performance. On a tight budget, or a commercial roof with many units, domes remain sensible.
Can domes open?
Hinged and vented domes are available, manual or electric.
Can you replace just the dome?
Yes, if the upstand is sound and the size matches. Otherwise we replace both.
Do you fit dome rooflights in Dewsbury?
Yes. We survey and fit dome rooflights in Dewsbury and across West Yorkshire. Send your postcode and we will offer a survey date when we reply.
Do I need to be at home for the survey in Dewsbury?
Yes — someone needs to let us into the room below and, where possible, show us how the roof is reached.
