What do pitched roof windows in Lurgan involve?
For Lurgan homes and buildings we offer pitched roof windows: centre-pivot and top-hung skylights for tiled and slate roofs. We measure first, specify to the opening and confirm any planning or building-control points before quoting.
Many Northern Irish homes have later flat-roofed kitchen extensions where an old dome can be swapped for glass. Typical uses for pitched roof windows include pitched roofs over bedrooms, stairs and bathrooms.
Jobs in Lurgan are planned around access: whether the roof can be reached from the garden, whether a hoist or crane is needed, and where we can park. We check this when we measure.

Do you need permission in Lurgan?
In Northern Ireland, roof alterations come under Class B of the 2015 order: a rooflight facing a road must not project more than 15 cm and must sit at least 0.5 m from the ridge, eaves, verge and party wall. A side-facing window within 15 m of a neighbouring boundary must be obscure-glazed, and non-opening unless the opening part is more than 1.7 m above the floor.
For homes in Northern Ireland, Technical Booklet F1 sets 1.6 W/m²K (or WER Band C) for replacement glazing including rooflights. New dwellings must average 1.40 W/m²K across windows, roof windows and rooflights.
Read the planning permission guide before you commit to a design.

Questions about pitched roof windows in Lurgan
Can roof windows be electric?
Yes — electric and solar-powered models open by remote and many include rain sensors.
Can a roof window be fitted from inside?
In most cases, yes — only the tiles around the opening are lifted, and much of the work is done from inside the loft.
Will it need building regulations approval?
Fitting a new roof window usually involves cutting rafters and changing the thermal envelope, so building control approval (or, in England and Wales, a competent-person route) is normally needed. We tell you which applies.
Do you fit pitched roof windows in Lurgan?
Yes. We survey and fit pitched roof windows in Lurgan and across County Armagh. Send your postcode and we will offer a survey date when we reply.
Can you work alongside my builder in Lurgan?
Yes. On new extensions we fit once the opening and upstand are ready and coordinate dates with your builder.
