Pitched roof windows in Craigavon: what is involved?
Pitched roof windows in Craigavon means centre-pivot and top-hung skylights for tiled and slate roofs. We cover the BT62 district and the rest of County Armagh, with a survey before any price is fixed.
Many Northern Irish homes have later flat-roofed kitchen extensions where an old dome can be swapped for glass. Pitched roof windows suit pitched roofs over bedrooms, stairs and bathrooms.
Craigavon is the main town we list in County Armagh; we also cover nearby Lurgan and Portadown.

Do you need permission in Craigavon?
Most rooflights on houses in Northern Ireland are permitted development under Class B, but not in a conservation area or on a listed building's curtilage. A side-facing window within 15 m of a neighbouring boundary must be obscure-glazed, and non-opening unless the opening part is more than 1.7 m above the floor.
For homes in Northern Ireland, Technical Booklet F1 sets 1.6 W/m²K (or WER Band C) for replacement glazing including rooflights. Extensions follow a 25% glazing allowance in Technical Booklet F1.
See our building regulations guide for U-values, glazing limits and self-certification.

Common questions
Centre-pivot or top-hung?
Centre-pivot windows are easy to clean and suit most rooms. Top-hung windows open out from the top for an unobstructed view and suit lower roof pitches near eye level.
Will it need building regulations approval?
Fitting a new roof window usually involves cutting rafters and changing the thermal envelope, so building control approval (or, in England and Wales, a competent-person route) is normally needed. We tell you which applies.
Can you replace an old roof window?
Yes — replacement into the same opening is usually quicker than a new install, often a few hours per window.
Do you fit pitched roof windows in Craigavon?
Yes. We survey and fit pitched roof windows in Craigavon and across County Armagh. Send your postcode and we will offer a survey date when we reply.
Can you work alongside my builder in Craigavon?
Yes. On new extensions we fit once the opening and upstand are ready and coordinate dates with your builder.
