Sun tunnels & tubular skylights in Strabane: what is involved?
Sun tunnels & tubular skylights in Strabane means light pipes that bring daylight to halls and bathrooms with no window. We cover the BT82 district and the rest of County Tyrone, with a survey before any price is fixed.
Bungalows are widespread in Northern Ireland, and sun tunnels or roof windows are an easy way to brighten internal hallways. Think of sun tunnels & tubular skylights for windowless hallways, landings and bathrooms.
From Strabane to Derry/Londonderry, Omagh and Limavady, the same survey-first process applies: measure, specify, fix the price, then fit.
Options we can specify in Strabane

Before you order: points to check
- Tube runs need insulation in cold lofts to limit condensation

Planning, building control and Strabane
Northern Ireland's householder permitted development allows rooflights within limits — no more than 15 cm projection on road-facing slopes and a 0.5 m margin from ridge, eaves and party walls. Listed buildings also need listed building consent from the council.
Northern Ireland's energy rules assess rooflight U-values in the vertical position — unlike England and Wales — and expect 1.6 W/m²K or Band C for replacements. Extensions follow a 25% glazing allowance in Technical Booklet F1.
See our building regulations guide for U-values, glazing limits and self-certification.
